An extinguisher that has not been serviced is an extinguisher nobody can rely on. Powder settles and cakes, seals dry out, pressure bleeds away through the valve, and none of that is visible from across a room. The annual service exists to catch those failures before the day somebody needs the unit to work.
It also exists on paper. Audits and Bomba inspections look for a current service record, and a lapsed label is one of the most common findings on an otherwise compliant site.
What the annual service covers
External inspection of the cylinder, valve, hose, nozzle and safety pin for corrosion, damage or tampering.
Pressure gauge check against the operating range, and repressurising where the reading has dropped.
Discharge, refilling and recharging with fresh agent where the interval or the condition calls for it.
Weighing and verification of the cartridge or stored pressure charge as applicable to the unit.
Replacement of the safety pin and tamper seal, and a new service label showing the date completed and the date next due.
What you receive afterwards
- A service label on every unit, legible and dated.
- A schedule listing each extinguisher, its location, its type and capacity, and its service history.
- A written note of any unit condemned, with the reason, so replacement can be budgeted rather than discovered at inspection.
- A reminder from us ahead of the next date falling due.
Hydrostatic pressure testing
- Cylinders are periodically pressure tested in addition to the annual service, on an interval set by the cylinder type and the manufacturer's instructions.
- We identify which units in your inventory are approaching a test date and handle the testing as part of the same visit rather than as a separate mobilisation.
- Cylinders that fail are withdrawn, and we quote replacement against the same specification.

Fire Extinguisher Servicing and Refilling questions
How often must fire extinguishers be serviced in Malaysia?
Annual inspection and servicing is the normal interval applied to portable extinguishers on commercial and industrial premises, alongside routine visual checks by the occupier between services.
The requirement that applies to a particular building depends on its classification and its Fire Certificate conditions. We can confirm what applies to your premises during the survey.
What happens if the service label has expired?
It is one of the first things an inspector looks at, and an expired label is usually recorded as a finding even where the extinguisher itself is serviceable.
If your labels have lapsed, we can attend, bring the whole inventory back into date and issue a current schedule.
Do you service extinguishers from other suppliers?
Yes. Brand is not a barrier, provided the cylinder is sound and parts are obtainable.
Where a unit is obsolete or beyond economical repair we will tell you and quote a replacement rather than return an unreliable extinguisher to the wall.
Can you service our whole site in one visit?
That is how we prefer to do it. We work through the inventory floor by floor, service on site where possible, and swap in loan units where a cylinder has to go back to the workshop.
For sites that cannot be without cover at any point, tell us and we will plan the sequence around it.
Do you cover Johor Bahru and the surrounding districts?
Yes. We are based in Kulai and cover Johor Bahru, Senai, Iskandar Puteri, Pasir Gudang, Masai, Pontian and the rest of Johor.
Scheduled maintenance contracts are the bulk of what we do, and routing around a fixed schedule keeps the cost down for sites outside the immediate area.
